Why fleas come back after pet treatment
Adult fleas on the animal are only part of the population. Eggs fall into carpet and furniture. Larvae develop in fibers. Pupae can wait out many sprays and emerge later as adults—often triggered by vibration or CO₂ when you walk by.
What has to happen together
- All pets treated on the same schedule (skipping one cat restarts everything)
- Indoor adulticide plus an insect growth regulator (IGR)
- Thorough vacuuming before and after as directed
- Hot-water wash for pet bedding
- Outdoor treatment when the yard is feeding the indoor problem
- Follow-up visits for hatch cycles
